How do I transfer my domain name to your service?

To prepare your domain name to be transferred, we recommend you perform the following steps first to ensure a smooth transfer:

  1. Make sure that you have at least 10 days left on your domain registration. If you have fewer than 10 days, issues may result if the domain goes into redemption period during the transfer.
  2. Unlock your domain name to allow transfer process.
  3. Turn off or disable any domain name WHOIS privacy protection.
  4. Ensure that the domain name WHOIS contact information is correct (Your name, address, phone number, and especially e-mail address are correct). Note: if you update your WHOIS contact information, it will lock you from further contact information changes for 60 days.

Once you have ensured your domain name is ready to be transferred, follow these steps:

  1. Order a domain name transfer: http://portal.207hosts.com/cart.php?a=add&domain=transfer
  2. After you have paid, your domain transfer will be initiated.
  3. You will get an e-mail from 207 Hosts to verify that the domain registrant is correct. Click on the link in that e-mail if everything is correct.
  4. You will get a second e-mail from 207 Hosts to start the domain name transfer. Click on the link in the e-mail to start the transfer.
  5. You may get an e-mail from your current domain registrar to approve the domain name transfer to 207 Hosts. Follow any steps in that e-mail to approve or confirm the domain name transfer. This will help expeditite the transfer process.
  6. You may need to wait several days in order for the domain name transfer to be completed. When it is complete, you will get an e-mail stating the domain name has been transferred to our service.
